“Is it worth upgrading after the recent release of iPhone 8 Plus or after buying it?
In this article, we are going to have a comparison between iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
iPhone 8 Plus vs iPhone X Comparison
|Specs||iPhone 8 Plus||iPhone X|
|Display||5.5” (1920 x 1080 pixels)||5.8” (2436 x 1125 pixels)|
|Battery||2691 mAh||2716 mAh|
Enough with the specs and let’s go into its features
Camera may be Similar but not Quite
Although they may have a similar camera with a resolution of 12MP, in iPhone X, the photos are way more crisp and realistic.
On the iPhone 8 Plus backside, the camera is placed horizontally while the iPhone X is placed vertically. This is to take advantage of the full or widescreen display when taking pictures of a landscape position.
Not Your Usual iPhone
I’m sure you’re familiar with how to unlock your iPhones, in iPhone 8 Plus it’s still the same but for an iPhone X is different. Different in a sense that it needs to be familiar with.
In iPhone X the home button is gone to give way to a larger screen on a small device. To unlock your phone, the new way is Face ID. In some demo, there are some instances that you’ll have trouble unlocking using the Face ID. Is it probably the distance, the angle or the lighting?
Anyway, we will fully know once released and out from the box.
Besides the new iOS on your iPhone X, a newer feature is added by changing your face as an emoji using your camera.
Speaking of camera, the front camera is much faster when it comes to facial recognition and focus.
The battery is much more efficient thanks to the new A11 bionic chip which helps to have a fast processor and less battery used.
The AR is not much appreciated but the results were okay. Once released it will be tested more to its maximum to test its limits.
Just to let you know that on iPhone X the new way of unlocking your phone is through Facial ID recognition, there’s no home button which you’re familiar with in the past.
There’s not much of a difference but if you’re into:
- A newer look
- If you’re into selfies that much with new features
- A wider screen
- More vivid photos
Then get an iPhone X if you don’t mind an additional $200 from the price you bought your 8 Plus.
So, are you willing to spend an extra buck for the futuristic iPhone X?
