For a few months now, it has been quite obvious the attention that the LG G3 Smart Phone is going to be getting from consumers as soon as it is officially announced. The phone is set to replace the LG G2 that was released last year and became one of the most popular smart phones sold last year. The LG G2 might have also given LG a new lease on life as they can now compete with companies like Samsung and Apple. Samsung and Apple continually release top of the line equipment and the market they hold is a perfect reflection of that.
As previously mentioned, LG will reportedly be replacing the LG G2 this year with the third generation model, the G3. The phone is expected to come with very, very impressive specs and this week there has been a lot of rumors flying around about it. Now that the Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 have been on the market for some time, it is time to take a look at another company. Rumors have been pointing to the hardware and software for months, but this week, it looks like the word “prime” has been coming up a lot more often.
Samsung and HTC are reportedly going to be releasing “Prime” versions of flagship devices and now rumors are pointing to the fact that LG will be doing the same thing. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has been rumored to be coming for months and it would include an all aluminium body, rather than the plastic body the current model has. The LG G3 could arrive on the market within the next month and if that is the case, the Prime version would be available within a couple months after that, or just in time for the very busy holiday shopping season.
A Korean publication has noticed that the LG G3 Prime is coming and it will have even better specs than what LG showcased to the public last month. The name of the device has also fallen to the rumor mill, but so far the pool of names includes the LG G Prime and the LG G+. LG has not commented at this time on the new phone, so for now everything that has been said about it can only be called rumor at this time.
According to the Korean publication the new phone that is being tested has similar specs to the G3 with a few changes. The “Prime” name could be used because Qualcomm is about to release the Snapdragon 805 processor, which will be faster, better and more efficient than the Snapdragon 801 you find in the current flagship models. The Snapdragon 805 will improve battery life, allow the device to charge faster and could even bring improved 4K support. LG will typically wait until the end of the year to release a new smartphone in order to take full advantage of new technology, like the Qualcomm processors and this device appears to be following the same path.
