5 Tips to Improve Your Experience on Skype
Here are 5 ways you improve Skype experience:-
Name your Contacts
Did you know that you can decide which names your contacts show up with on your friends list? You just have to right-click on the contact and choose the option to rename. Then, type in any name you want to and hit enter. This makes Skype so much more personal. It’s exactly like storing your own contacts how ever you want in your phonebook. Try it out!
Hide When You Type
Just like Whatsapp, even Skype lets you hide when you’re typing a message. All you have to do is head to “Tools” and click on “Options” Then, you’ll see the settings page, where you need to click on “Show Advanced Options”. Next, simply uncheck the “Show When I am Typing” box and finally, hit the “Save” button. After this, whenever you type, the moving pencil along with the text “(Your Name) is typing” will never show. Pretty simple, right?
Edit Messages
We sometimes say things we wish we could take back. While this cannot happen in the “real” world, it’s definitely possible with online chatting on Skype! The option to edit messages is especially helpful when you’re having a formal discussion or giving an interview. All you have to do to edit a sent message is press the up arrow key or right-click on the message. Then, you’ll see the option to edit the message. Click on it and type in the correction. Done! Note that you can use the up arrow key only to edit the last message you typed, but you can right-click on any other message in the conversation to edit it. I consider this as one of the best Skype experience.
Chat In Multiple Windows
If you’re a heavy Skype user, chances are that you have a whole lot of friends on your list, and often chat with several at a time, individually. Switching between conversations can be tough! To make it much better, go to “View” and click on “Split Window View”. Next, click on any of your chats and they will open in new windows within the main window.
Share Screens
Skype lets you explain things face-to-face and send files too. It also gives you the option to show the other person exactly what you’re talking about, by sharing your screen! While you’re on the call, all you have to do is click on the “Share Screens” option. Then, click on “Start”. Now you can have a conversation as if you’re sitting next to each other in front of the same computer screen! Isn’t that great?
